Mary Pat Mitton, CPA was promoted to Client Accounting Services Manager. She holds degrees from Seattle University and Central Washington University. Mitton’s new role places her as the head of Accounting where she manages a staff of accountants assisting businesses and clients with cash flow planning, profit planning, budgeting / projections to achieve objectives, provides higher level accounting services (CFO and controller), CEO advice, and helping clients to secure their SBA and bank loans, and managing the Balance Sheet ratios to keep the loans from being called. Ms. Mitton is a trailblazer in assisting clients improve their business performances, developing strategies for enhancing business value and optimizing expansion opportunities.
Mary Pat’s unique background includes not only formal accounting training and experience, but also a 15-year teaching career, and launching and running a small business. Her distinctive experience gives her the exceptional ability to understand the business owner’s needs and to package and present complex accounting concepts to clients in a way that is easy to understand and implement. Outside of work, she loves entertaining family and friends, tending her vegetable garden and orchard on her 7-acre property, working a Sudoku puzzle, or getting lost in a mystery book.
Kari Moore, CPA, MST. We are also pleased to announce that Kari Moore recently joined our firm as our Senior Tax Manager and will head up our tax department. Moore is an accomplished financial and tax accountant with nearly 20 years of experience serving a variety of small/medium-size businesses and individual tax clients. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from University of Oregon, and a master’s degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University. Moore will manage a team of tax accountants assisting businesses and individuals with tax compliance, estate tax planning, equity/stock transaction tax planning, client advisory, and working with clients’ financial advisors and investment managers on strategies and timing. With rapid-fire tax law changes always looming on the horizon, Ms. Moore will be instrumental in guiding our clients and staff on staying ahead of the game.
Kari is uniquely equipped to be our head tax expert because of her broad experience including owning her own business and working at Jacobson Jarvis and other firms locally and in California over the last two decades. Kari loves the rules and a framework required to build solutions that best serve clients. She especially enjoys working in a small firm because of the exposure to a wide variety of business challenges and the personal touch she can add to client relationships. When Kari is not working in tax, she is enjoying baking, painting and spending time with family.
