Our Tax Return Process

Thank you for trusting our team to prepare your tax return. To complete the process as smoothly and quickly as possible using your intuitive Canopy portal, take a moment to review our tax return workflow.

  1. Questionnaire & Document Upload – Client completes tax questionnaire and uploads documents.
  2. Document Review & Initial Tax Prep – Our Tax Team thoroughly reviews your documents and questionnaire to begin preparing your return. Please check your email during this stage for any questions from our team. Answering quickly helps us complete your return faster
  3. Tax Ready – After documents are verified, full preparation begins. 
  4. Tax Review - Once your return is complete, we will conduct an internal review to ensure accuracy.
  5. Client Review - Following review, the following documents will be uploaded to your portal. Review and sign as soon as possible to allow us to process your e-filing. 
    • Client copy of your return
    • Form 8879 authorizes Accountability Services to e-file on your behalf (Must be signed by all parties on return)
    • Payment vouchers and instructions (if applicable)
  6. Client Sign - Our team e-files your return and uploads the signed version to your portal. Download copies for your records.
